Summer

The past couple of days I've been chasing up and collating tracks for the second in our four-part 2009 Collection series of compilation CDs (which you can subscribe to here, FYI). Following on from 'Spring', this one is cleverly titled 'Summer' and will be available from mid-May, featuring another beautiful lineup of weird and wonderful tracks from our labels finest. I'll be announcing the full tracklisting in a few weeks time, but hopefully you'll all find this one as pleasing as the first.

Soon enough it'll be time to begin the third CD ('Autumn', of course) and thought I should take the opportunity to ask what YOU would like on it? Are there any of our bands you'd like to hear covering others? Or perhaps playing different versions of their own songs? Anyone or anything you would like to see in video? (lets keep this clean please, people!). Whatever you'd like, leave a comment here or contact me via email, Myspace, Twitter, Facebook or whatever crazy 21st century medium takes your fancy.

These CDs are for you so the creativity ball is firmly resting in your court. Go wild!

If there is any chance a MMISL cover by someone would be brilliant...get Mimas involved or this town needs guns.

Also, remixes if possible, the Pulled Apart by Horses mix was quality.

And more Colourfish?

More Colourfish would be amazing but it depends when we can get the bands together again. Soon, hopefully!

Mimas are busy recording their next album but I'll ask them if they're up for recording a MMISL cover. It's something I briefly mentioned to another of our bands last week infact and if it happens could be brilliant! Waiting to find out if they're going to try it or not

At the moment we have no remixes planned for the Summer compilation so I'll make sure there are a couple ready for Autumn. The guy who did the PABH remix has just done one for Shapes, but that'll only be appearing on the limited edition version of their EP for now

Thanks for your suggestions. Keep em coming!

or

Jeniferever covering Come to New York, There Were fewer murders last year.

I'd be interested in what some other ex-members of BSM bands or ex-BSM bands might be upto. Are any of sparks lights and flames doing music stuff still? Or olly from secondsmile? Did Itch break up or move on? If any of them (or anyone else bsm related) are doing good stuff it would be cool to hear it.
